Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” While there are many great and worthy attributes about God that we should become familiar with, our starting point must be with the FEAR of God. It’s the beginning of wisdom. So in order to be wise and help us understand God, we have to start with the fear of God. If we skip the fear of God, we won’t “get” the other things about God.
Unfortunately, the way the world thinks about fear has created an upside-down understanding of who God is and what He is like. Upside-Down logic tells us that a fear-inducing God is mean, vindictive and judgmental, but God’s Word tells us that when we fear God we will find that He is loving, forgiving and merciful.
Join us as we look into the ways that a healthy fear of God opens us up to an intimate relationship with Him where we are able to receive His blessings like never before.
